Mr. Jimmie Gilbert "CLOCK" Thacker was born May 23, 1938 in Winston-Salem, NC to Andrew C. Thacker, Sr. and Lilian Johnson Thacker. He departed this life on March 10, 2015 which would have been the birthday of his eldest son.

Jimmie was a graduate of Atkins High School and an employee of RJ Reynolds Tobacco Company for 34 years. He also did general construction work throughout the city.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Walker Thacker; brother, Jerry Thacker; and his son, Talmadge "TAB" Thacker (Sharon).

He is survived by his wife, Cathy Johnson Thacker; sons, Travionne Thacker (Teasha), Taryton Thacker (Lashonda), Anthony, Charles, William, Lamont, and James Huff; daughters, Denesha and Jarmiah Johnson; 22 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; sister, Marilyn Thacker Jones; aunts, Laura Thacker Kennedy, Millie Edwards of Greensboro, NC, Alta M. Bruce of South Carolina, and Francis Jackson (Freddie) of Connecticut; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws; devoted friends, Temus and Delois Stephens, Doris Jones, Tony Wright, Wendy Foster, Yvette Spigner, Jamesea Holman, Derrick Pettiford and many others.

Funeral services will be held at 1pm Thursday, March 19, 2015 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Johnny Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 12noon until 1pm on Thursday at the Chapel.
