Obituary

John 11:25-26 "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die."

Mr. Jimmie Odell Carroll departed from this earth to his eternal home on Tuesday, March 3, 2009. He was born July 19, 1943 to Odell and Roxie Carroll. He was a lifelong resident of Forsyth County. He was employed with Thomasville Furniture Factory for 12 years. Also he and his former wife were licensed foster care parents. Mr. Carroll was also a veteran of the United States Army. He was also a member of Rock Hill Baptist Church until his health declined.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Odell and Roxie Carroll; two brothers, James Flynt and Tyrone Carroll; and one sister, Levolia Satterfield.

Left to cherish his memory are five sisters, Dorothy Bruton and Beatrice Willis with whom he lived, Arlene Carroll, Mary (Ernest) Rice of Winston-Salem, NC, and Ruby Hairston of Walnut Cove, NC; four brothers, Stanley (Sharon) Carroll, Raymond (Thelma) Carroll, Cleo Carroll, and Paul Carroll of Winston-Salem, NC; two aunts, Mrs. Lily Welch and Marie Carroll of Walnut Cove, NC; a sister-in-law, Rachel Carroll; a devoted former wife, Janet M. Carroll; four step-sons, Antwan, Darrell, Tam, and Gary Washington; and a host of other nieces, nephews, and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 3 pm Sunday, March 8, 2009 at Rock Hill Baptist Church, Walnut Cove, NC with Pastor Billy Ray Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Family visitation will be held from 2:30 pm until 3 pm Sunday at the church.
