Obituary

Ms. Jessie Mae Ingram, 78, passed away on Monday, May 21, 2007 at the Forsyth Medical Center surrounded by her family. She was born on May 14, 1929 in Wadesboro, NC, Anson County, to Jesse Douglas and Rosie I. Ingram. She resided at 21-B Salem Gardens, Winston-Salem, NC and was a longtime member of Greater Hope of Glory Baptist Church formerly Pleasant Abyssinia Baptist Church where she was currently the mother of the Church, president of Missionary Circle #2, Pastor Aide, and Historian of the Church. She was also a member of the North Dunleith Avenue Good Neighbor Club, District V-NCSCC.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four siblings, Gracie (William Lock) Ingram, Fannie (James) Flake, Hattie (Hubert) Baldwin and Kattie (Lee) Harley and son, Robert "SHAFT" Ingram, Sr.

She leaves to mourn, four sons, a very devoted son and daughter-in-law, Doug (Arnita) Ingram, John (Yvette) Ingram, Pastor Byron (Cheryl) Ingram all of Winston-Salem, NC and Gregory (Christlyn) Ingram of Tampa, Florida; two sisters, Edna (Al) Little of Troy, NC and Bernice (Lawrence) Brown of Augusta, GA. She also leaves to cherish her memories, devoted granddaughters, Stacy Ingram (fiancée, Terry Andrews), Selena (Gjerria) Ligons, Robin Ingram, Tameka Ingram, Renee Ingram all of Winston-Salem , NC ; grandsons, Robert Ingram, Jr., Josh Ingram, Brian Gentry, Kenneth Dixon, Jeffery McCall of Winston-Salem, NC, Elmo Gentry of Raleigh, NC and Greg Ingram, whom she reared, of Tampa, Florida and 21 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren; a devoted niece, Wendy Ingram of Greensboro, NC; and a host of nieces and nephews near and far; extended family, Gloria (Mark) Redd, Rita Powell, Rubenia Richardson, Elaine (Joseph, Jr.) Barnes, Earnestine Cameron, Earnest Cameron, Jr. and their children; Mrs. Magnolia Perkins and family; a very devoted friend, Ms. Nora Henderson and family and close friends, Ms. Ann, Ms. Betty, Ms. Linda and Michelle, her neighbors of Salem Garden Apartments; a host of other family and friends.

Homegoing services will be held at 1pm Saturday, May 26, 2007 at the Greater Hope of Glory Baptist Church with Reverend Waddell Cockerham, Sr. officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 12noon until 1pm on Saturday at the Church. Memorials may be made to Greater Hope of Glory Building Fund, 414 Mason Street, Winston-Salem, NC 27101.

The family will assemble and leave from the home of her granddaughter, Selena Ligons at 489 Camden Ridge Drive, Winston-Salem,NC.
