Jerry Robert George was born July 29, 1940 and departed this life on April 6, 2015. He attended school in Robeson County and was a retiree of R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Company where he worked for thirty years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary McCrae George and Robert George of Fairmont, NC; two sisters, Mary Smith and Gertrude Dudley; and one grandson, Otis "O.J." Myers, Jr.

Jerry Robert George leaves to cherish his memory and is survived by his wife of fifty-four years, Gloria Myers George; from their union came six sons, Otis Myers, Sr. (Ketitia), Jerry George, Jr., Bryant George, Sr., Donald George, Sr., Derry George, Sr. (Jennifer), and Michael George (Theresa) all of W-S, NC; one daughter, Vickie Glenn (Gary) of W-S, NC; three devoted grandchildren, Chowan Melton, Donald George Jr., and Jermaine Myers; one devoted niece, Carolyn Mughal; three brothers, Samuel George (Emma) of W-S, NC, Willie George and Danny George of Fairmont, NC; three sisters, Magnolia Cobb, Adel McCullough, and Irene Taylor (Willie) all of Fairmont, NC; 15 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Saturday, April 11, 2015 at Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend Dwight Hash officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 12noon until 1:00pm on Saturday at the Church.
