Obituary

With hearts full of love and sorrow, we celebrate the life of Jermaine Lamont May Jr., 32, of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, who passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on July 27, 2025. Born on July 28, 1992, in Winston- Salem, Jermaine was the beloved son of Michelle C. Moses and Jermaine May Sr.

Jermaine graduated from Mount Tabor High School in 2010 and went on to become a dedicated dialysis technician at Fresenius Kidney Care South, touching countless lives through his work in healthcare. Always striving for more, he was pursuing his dream of becoming a nurse, a path that perfectly reflected his caring and selfless spirit.

Known for his larger-than-life personality, Jermaine had a gift for making everyone feel welcome. He was the life of the party, not just in celebration, but in every moment he shared with others.

Deeply rooted in his community, Jermaine created a safe and fun environment for local teens; hosting events that gave them a place to be themselves. His passion for uplifting others extended to supporting his sister's hair business and helping her launch a dance team; always standing behind his family with unwavering love.

Jermaine had an undeniable sense of style. He was a fashion guru, known for rocking the latest designers and putting together looks that made a statement. His love for fashion turned into a legacy, when he launched his own clothing brand, Exotic Motion, which swept through the community, reflecting his unique flair.

His birthdays were legendary- Jermaine lived life in color and celebration, making sure every moment was memorable.

Beyond his style and energy, his biggest impact was on the youth. Jermaine was a mentor, a role model, and for many, the big brother they never had. His heart was just as bold as his fashion, and he poured it into everyone he met.

Jermaine was a proud member of Destiny Temple, where his faith and love for God guided his steps.

Jermaine was preceded in death by his maternal great- grandmother, Maggie Jackson; great- aunt, Cynthia Clement; and paternal grandparents, Alma May and James Galloway.

To carry on his legacy of love and light, Jermaine leaves behind his cherished and devoted parents, Michelle C. Moses and Jermaine May, Sr.; maternal grandparents, Lillian Moses and Micheal Jackson (Dorsel). He is also survived by his loving siblings, Tra'Miyah Taylor, Alshaundra "Shauny" Rolle, and Ja'Marii Brown; god-brother, Corey Hill, Jr.; sister/cousin, Felicia Akande; godmother/cousin, Chanetta McRae; his godson, Andres Smith Jr.; his fur baby Polo, and Polo's mother, Khyisha Trott; and a beloved best friend, Tanganika Williams.

He is also survived by aunts, Kenya Leach (James), Monica May and Tammy Galloway; uncles, Michael and Corey Moses; as well as a host of other siblings, very close friends, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Jermaine's laughter, style, and unwavering love will forever echo in the hearts of all who knew him. His light was one that could not be dimmed, and his legacy will live on through the lives he touched.

There will be no public viewing at the funeral home the day before the service.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00pm Friday, August 1, 2025 at Galilee Missionary Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. The family visitation and viewing will be held from 11:00am until 12:00pm on Friday at the Church.
