Jerell Lamont Cohen of Winston-Salem, NC passed on December 20, 2019 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston Salem, NC.

Jerell was born in Newark, NJ on June 14, 1976 to his mother, Uverna Williams and father, Earl Cohen.

Jerell attended Westside High School. Later, he relocated to North Carolina where he met his fiancé, Kathy Thompson. He enjoyed spending time with his family. Jerell was loved by everyone he came in contact with. His witty and humorous personality attracted many, who became long term friends.

Jerell was preceded in death by his mother Uverna Williams; father Earl Cohen; and sister Rev. Sharonda

Coleman-Singleton. Jerell leaves to mourn his passing, but cherish his memory, daughter, To-Nasia Cohen of Newark, NJ; son, Jerell Cohen of  Charlotte,  NC; brother, Earl Cohen (Samirah) of Newark, NJ; sister, Shalisa Coleman of Stone Mountain, GA; four aunts, Shirley and Ethel Cohen of NJ; Agnes Coleman (Floyd) of  VA and Gloria "Jean" Williams of NJ; two nieces, Talaiya Coleman and Camryn Singleton; four nephews, Samir and Earl Asad Cohen; and Christopher and Caleb Singleton; beloved fiancé, Kathy Thompson of Winston-Salem, NC; special friends, Monterius (SP) Williams and Anthony Blackburn; special adoptive family, the Williams family of Winston­ Salem, NC; four step sons, Antoine Freeman, Michael, Khamari, and Ahmad Crews; and a host of relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00pm Saturday, December 28, 2019 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Bernard Walker officiating.  The family visitation will be held from 2:30pm until 3:00pm on Saturday at the Chapel.
