Bishop Jeffrey Lucas was born December 14, 1960 in Bronx, NY to the late Theodore and Mary Lena Lucas Harrell. He peacefully transitioned to his Heavenly home on Tuesday, October 8, 2024 surrounded by his loving family.

Pastor Jeffrey Lucas graduated from East Forsyth High School in Kernersville, NC in 1979. He worked as a licensed Insurance Agent for Kemper Life, Lincoln Heritage Life, American National, and United Insurance Company of America.

He was a faithful member of Solid Rock United Bibleway Ministries, Inc. He then started Greater Deliverance Worship Center in 2003 with Bishop Marvin Cremedy and Pastor Clara Cremedy and then changed the name to New Light Worship Center, Inc. where he faithfully taught God's word alongside his faithful friend Elder Donald McNair, Sr.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 30 years, Denise M. Lucas; his sister, Samantha "Pam" McNeil; his brother, Bishop Larry Lucas; a niece, Maurica McNeil; and a nephew, Darnell Harrell.

He leaves to cherish his wife, Tasha M. Lucas of Advance, NC; his sisters, Cynthia Harrell of Winston-Salem, NC and Kim (Carlos) Flood of Charlotte, NC; daughters, Patrice Lucas of Winston-Salem, NC and Michelle Lucas of Winston-Salem, NC; son, Kendrick Harrell of Winston-Salem, NC; grandson, Phillip Lucas of Winston-Salem, NC; step-daughter, Breanna Cook of Winston-Salem, NC; step-grandchildren, Meagan, Reginald, Daniel, and Amira of Winston-Salem, NC; nieces, Dora Harrell and Netiesha Brown of Winston-Salem, NC; nephew, Tolen Harrell of Winston-Salem, NC; and a host of great nieces, great nephews, cousins, friends, and two devoted friends, William Monk and Art Crockett.

Memorial services will be held at 11:30am Saturday, October 19, 2024 at St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church.
