Jaylen Nicole Hankins was born October 5, 1994, in Winston Salem NC to Harry and Nicole Hankins. And she departed this life on Thursday, February 6, 2025, in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Jaylen attended the Winston Salem Forsyth County Schools and graduated from Ronald Reagan High School. She also attended Forsyth Tech Community College and Guildford Tech Community College.

Jaylen began her Spiritual life as a child as a member of Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church where she served on the PGBC Children's Choir Ministry, PGBC Youth Choir Ministry and the PGBC Youth Praise Team Ministry where she loved to utilize her melodic gift of song in praise and worship to the glory of God. She also served on the PGBC Angels Step Team Ministry, PGBC Heavenly Angels Ministry and the PGBC Youth Missionary Ministry. She was also highly active in Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and Bible Study. Most of all, Jaylen loved God and her family and friends.

Jaylen recently joined St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church on November 3, 2024, where she desired to join the SSMBC Usher Ministry.

Jaylen leaves behind her parents, Harry and Nicole Hankins; sister, Jasmine Hankins McMillian (Terelle); brother, Joshua Lofton Hankins; niece, Milan Allen; nephew, Kash McMillian; God parents, Thomas and Karen Oliver; God sisters, Latasha Oliver and Trinity Taylor; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.

A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 5:00pm Friday, February 14, 2025 at Russell Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Saturday, February 15, 2025 at St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Mt. Gur Cemetery, Kernersville, NC. The family visitation will be held from 12:00noon until 1:00pm on Saturday at the Church.
