Mr. Jay Perrie Bailey, 53, son of Beaufort and Pollye Bailey, was born December 26, 1965 in Washington, North Carolina. He departed this earthly life on May 21, 2019 at his home in High Point, North Carolina.
Mr. Bailey attended the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County public schools, graduating from West Forsyth High School. He later enrolled at Winston-Salem State University, receiving a B.S. degree in English. He was earlier employed by Piedmont Natural Gas Company, and most recently by L'Tanya J. Bailey, DDS, MS, PLLC.
Mr. Bailey was a proud member of the Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc, where he was initiated in the spring of 1986. His favorite pastimes were supporting his alma mater, Winston-Salem State University Rams football team and the NFL Pittsburgh Steelers with family and friends.
Jay was baptized and reared in the Saint Philips Moravian Church in Winston-Salem, NC.
He was preceded in death by his father, Mr. Beaufort Orell Bailey; and twin brother, Jan Perrin Bailey.
He leaves to cherish most dear and precious memories, his loving mother, Pollye Graves Bailey; daughter, Jayda` Aliz Bailey; son, Jaylen Maxwell Bailey; sister, Dr. L'Tanya Joy Bailey; brothers, Eugene Orell Bailey, Goley Jock Bailey, and Reverend Dr. Nikita Joel Bailey (Valerie); the mother of his children, Aliza` Diggs Bailey; and a host of nieces, nephews, and many dear family members and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Saturday, May 25, 2019 at Union Baptist Church, 1200 N. Trade St. Winston-Salem, NC 27101. Interment will follow in the Bailey Family Cemetery, Walnut Cove, NC. The family visitation will be held from 12noon until 1:00pm on Saturday at the Church.
