Mother Janie Funderburk Gilmore formerly of the Lutheran Home and 3255 Craver Street expired Saturday, October 10, 2009 at Forsyth Medical Center.
She was born to the late Wister and Nannie Green in Anderson, SC.
Mother Janie was a member of Saint Paul Apostolic Church and was a retired employee of RJ Reynolds Tobacco Company.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Herbert Green; sisters, Robbie Wilson and Leonie Saunders; sons, Herbert Funderburk Welborn and Howard Funderburk; and her daughter, Juanita Leak.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories two sons, Bishop James (Mary) Funderburk of Winston-Salem, NC and Grady (Lillie) Funderburk of Detroit, MI; one daughter, Carolyn (James) Anderson of Detroit, MI; a daughter-in-law, Kay Welborn of Winston-Salem, NC; devoted niece, Barbara Brown of Winston-Salem, NC; 13 grandchildren; devoted grandchildren, James Funderburk, Jr. and Rena Dioum; and a host of great, great-great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services will be held at 12Noon Saturday, October 17, 2009 from the Saint Paul Apostolic Church with Bishop Joseph Lucas officiating and Elder Ricky Wilson eulogist. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 11am until 12Noon on Saturday at the Church.
