The Life and Legacy of Janice Elaine Bell.

Janice Elaine Bell, 65, departed this life and entered heaven's gate on January 15, 2024. She was born in New York, NY on February 1, 1958 to the late Alonzo Charles Bell, Sr. and Joan Elaine Bell.

Janice grew up in New York until her early teens and moved to Winston-Salem, NC. She graduated from Parkland High School in 1976 and attended Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte, NC.  Janice lived most of her life in Winston-Salem, until she moved to Decatur, GA and stayed for over 20 years. She then moved to Little Elm, TX in 2009 to join her sister, Nicole Bell Johnson, brother-in-law, Marcus Johnson, Sr., and her mother, Joan Bell. Janice retired from Conifer Health Solutions in 2021.

Janice never married or had children, but she was the greatest Aunt to her nieces and nephews. She loved to shower them with gifts! Janice was always available to spend time with them and celebrate birthdays, sports events, and vacations. Janice was very active in the community assisting with volunteer and sports events. She was a sweet, caring, loving sister, aunt, cousin and friend. Everyone that knew Janice, loved Janice. She was known to her loved ones as "Jan". Nieces and nephews called her "Aunt Jan" or "AJ". Others called her "JB". She was beautiful inside and out, the sweetest soul you could ever meet. Janice was always there to lend a helping hand, offer great advice, keep your most intimate secrets, and cook your favorite food. Her heart was golden!

Janice had heart surgery in 2021 and was regaining her strength. She still found time to spend with her sister, nieces, and nephews and enjoying their many sports activities.

Bell, Jr. (LaRita) of Winston- Salem, NC; two aunts, Thelma Bell of Springfield, VA and Ann Bell of Monaca, PA; devoted cousins, Kimberly Bell Knight, Deirdre Mubdi (Mustafa), Meena Hill, Rosalynne Campbell (Roger), Pamela Russell Trimble (Alphonso), Audrey Bell Farrow (Leon), Teresa Bell Martin, Karin Bell Adames, LaNita Bell, and Charles McVea (Arlene); devoted nieces and nephews, Makisha Williams (Leon), Gregory Bell, Jr., Gerard Bell, K'Nycha Joseph (Damond), Marcus Johnson, Jr. (Jude), Jordan Johnson, Aleasia Roberts, Kwame Wallace (Kharma), Bruce Gentry, Jr., Otis Kpakpo, and Addae Pinkeney; devoted great-nieces and nephews, Darnell Adams, Darryl DeMesme, Deon Williams, Jamir Finley Davis, Kali Hoover Wallace, Logan Finley Wallace, Leon Scott, and Shontrell Freund (Matthew); devoted great-great nieces and nephews, Gregory Bell III, Brittney Bell, Breanna Bell, Alana Bell, Gerard Bell Jr, Jennifer Bell, Marie Joan Bell, Gianna Bell, Kaycyn Pelts, Jakson Pelts, Jamyr Pelts, Damond Kobe Joseph, Layla Roberts, Dylan Adams, Da'Neal Adams, Asia DeMesme, Kai DeMesme, Matthew Freund, Jr., and Maveric Russell; devoted friends & extended family, Leroy Wilson, Denise Batchleor, Daphne Singh, Chasidy Chatman. Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Friday, January 26, 2024 at Antioch Baptist Church.  Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. The family visitation will be held from 12noon until 1:00pm on Friday at the Church.
