Jamiez Keondra Carter was a beloved son, father, brother, and partner whose life touched many. He was born on April 19, 2005, and passed away on April 9, 2026. Jamiez was raised in North Carolina by his loving mother, Zee Johnson; and father, Jeffrey Carter. He grew up surrounded by family and shared close bonds with his siblings- his two sisters, Rashanda Duplessis and Myesha Duplessis; along with Phil Johnson, Phillip Johnson, and Philesha Johnson.
He attended and graduated from East Forsyth High School, where he created lasting friendships and memories. Jamiez had a passion for football from a young age and proudly played for both the Broncos Youth Football Team and the Panthers Youth Football Team. His dedication to the sport reflected his strength, teamwork, and determination.
Jamiez will be remembered for his vibrant personality. He was known for being a prankster, always bringing laughter and light into any room he entered. He had a playful spirit, a loving heart, and a protective nature, especially when it came to his family.
Above all, Jamiez cherished being a father. He leaves behind his beautiful daughter, Sa’miyah Carter, who was truly the light of his life. He also leaves behind his loving girlfriend, Mishiya Funderburk, who is expecting their second daughter in July 2026—a child who will carry on his legacy and forever be a part of him. Jamiez will be deeply missed but never forgotten. His love, laughter, and memory will live on forever in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
“Those we love don’t go away, they walk beside us every day—unseen, unheard, but always loved. Continue to love them, for love never dies.”
Funeral services will be held at 12:00noon Thursday, April 23, 2026 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be held in Mt. Gur Cemetery, Kernersville, NC. The family visitation will be held from 11:00am until 12:00noon on Thursday at the Chapel.
