James Bernard Williams of Winston-Salem, NC was born on October 24,1959. He passed away on Sunday August 18th, 2024.

James was preceded in death by his mother, Edith Williams Chaskley; sister, Debbie Williams; and brother, Walter Gray.

He is survived by his longtime partner, Cheryl Poteat; brother, Charles (Doretha) Williams; son, James Devalin (Tamara) Williams; daughter, Breonna Williams; his grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; as well as, other relatives and friends.

James was a dedicated employee for over 20 years at Hayward. His supervisor Anita Blue, coworker Pastor H.E. Owens, and other coworkers have been very supportive during this tough time. Everyone's kind words have been very much appreciated.

A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 5:00pm on Monday, August 26, 2024 at Russell Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 12noon Tuesday, August 27, 2024 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel.  Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 11:30am until 12noon on Tuesday at the Chapel.
