Mr. James Thomas Jones, Sr. "POPS", 61 of 5363 Kingswell Drive passed away on March 6, 2008 at Forsyth Medical Hospital. Mr. Jones was born in Union County, South Carolina to Wyvonia Rice Jones and Wesley Ceasar. Mr. Jones graduated from Atikins High School in Winston-Salem/Forsyth County School System. Following graduation he served in the United States Marine Corp from 1966 until 1970. Mr. Jones was employed with R.J. Reynolds and retired after thirty-eight years of service. He was a member of the Salem Lodge #139 PHA.

Mr. James is preceded in death by his sister Wyoming Wright, former wife Earnestine S. Jones, and two grandchildren; Anyah K. Jones, and Kelci D. King.

He lives to cherish his memories in addition to his parents, his daughter, Kristy J. King (Anthony); two sons, Kevin D. Sides Sr., and James T. Jones, Jr.; three sisters Cheryl Gray (Thomas), Rhonda Jones, and Charlene Jones; three brothers, Charles Jones (Vicka), Robert Jones (Joan), and Donald Jones (Emma); fourteen grandchildren, best friend Ken E. Byers, good friend Darriel Brown, close friends Pat Jones and Brian Pouncey Sr., former spouse Brenda Carpenter, and host of other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am, Tuesday, March 11, 2008 at Russell Funeral Home Chapel. Internment will follow in Salisbury National Cemetery. Family visitation will be held from 10:30 am until 11:00am at the Chapel.
