James Curtis Robinson, 69, succumbed to his illness at Forsyth Medical Center surrounded by his beloved daughters on January 15, 2019.  James was born August 7, 1949 in Charlotte, NC to the late Rev. Boyce & Elizabeth Robinson.  He was educated by the Mecklenburg County public school systems.

His life-long career as a business man was centered around insurance sales and psychological counseling and mentorship. He was a very practical person but respected the ambition of the dreamer in everyone he met. Although he was very serious about his business, he had the greatest sense of humor and the sound of the joy in his laughter was always contagious and will always be remembered. He held close all the little moments in life and was always there to help anyone who was in need.  James was a loving father, grandfather, and friend to everyone.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Nathanial Robinson, Rev. Jeremiah Robinson, and Isaiah Robinson; and sisters, Bernice R. Brown and Mary R. Bradshaw.

James leaves loving memories to his daughters, Latifa (Tremayne) Gilmore and Jamika (Stefon) Watts; grandson, Tremaine "T.J" L. Gilmore, Jr.; granddaughter, Sydney Grace Watts; brother, Samuel Robinson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other beloved relatives and friends.

Services will be held at 1:00pm Monday, January 28, 2019 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel, 822 Carl Russell Ave. W-S, NC 27101.
