On January 24, 2012, God called to his angels to come and get the soul of James R. King.
He was born on April 14, 1918 to Deemster and Cleola King in Forsyth County, NC. He attended the W-S/Forsyth County Schools, served in the US Army, and retired from RJ Reynolds Tobacco Company.
His loving personality and wisdom will be missed. His devotion to his children and grandchildren will be cherished and remembered.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He leaves to cherish his loving memories sons, James Rhynes, James and Berry Bryant of W-S, NC; daughters, Mary Rucker of W-S, NC and Beverly Porter of Topeka, KS; nine grandchildren, James, Jr., Michael, Michelle, Tracy, Deborah, and Renae Rhynes, LaToya Smith, Louis Grant, and Casey Hauser; 45 great-grandchildren; one brother, Charles King; a daughter-in-law, Fannie M. Rhynes; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 12noon Friday, January 27, 2012 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Salisbury National Cemetery, Salisbury, NC. The family visitation will be held from 11:30am until 12noon on Friday at the funeral home.
