James Elbert Johnson, Jr. departed this life suddenly on Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mr. Johnson, affectionately known to his family and friends as "Jay Jay, June, and Paper man" will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Mr. Johnson is survived by his devoted wife, Janice Johnson; six children, Da'Ron, Kevin, Jamal, Kimberly, Antwon, and Keyerra; two step-children, George and Nashaunda; two grandchildren, Demya and Bailey; his father, James Johnson, Sr.; his three brothers, Michael, Danny, and Eric; his father and mother-in-law, Jesse and Josephine Richardson of Clemmons, NC; devoted aunt, Martha (Reverend Clarence) Bookard of Columbia, SC; a devoted cousin, Gail Jackson of Maryland; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11am Thursday, December 31, 2009 at Antioch Christian Church with Pastor James Gilliam officiating. Interment will follow in Providence AME Church Cemetery, St. Matthews, SC. The family visitation will be held from 10am until 11am on Thursday at the Church.
