Mr. James D. Patterson, III, 54, was born June 25, 1965 in Winston-Salem, NC to James David Patterson, Jr. and Flora Hammonds Patterson.  He transitioned to Heaven on September 9, 2019.

He attended the Winston-Salem Forsyth County Schools and was a graduate of North Forsyth High School.

"Dave" as he was affectionately known was employed at K&W Cafeterias for over 25 years.

He was preceded in death by his loving parents.

He is survived by his loving children Ricky Moore, Rebecca Moore, and Jordan (Maurice) Dula; grandson, Corey Moore; friend and the mother of his children, Sandy Moore; two sisters, Gwendolyn (Ralph) Moore and Amanda (Broddrick) Pender; three nephews, Gregory (Tathia) Withers, Ghafeer Withers, and Raymond Cloud; one niece, Diamond Patterson; one great nephew, D'Angelo Ghafeer Withers; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A family gathering will be held at 11:00am Friday, September 13, 2019 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel.
