James D. Goodine, 47, was born March 27, 1970 to the late John Wright Jr and Mary Goodine in Winston-Salem, NC. He departed this life late Tuesday night at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center surrounded by his family.

James attended the WSFC Schools and graduated from South Iredell High in Statesville NC.

James was preceded in death by father John Wright Jr.; his mother, Mary; his sister, Patrinia Goodine; grandfather, Monroe; and his grandmother, Evangelist Eva Mae Goodine

He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife Letitia; two daughters, Leeyah and Lavaria; one son, James Goodine Jr.; one sister, Rev. Pamela Goodine; two  brothers, John Lopp (Angela) and Shawn R. Shepard; five nephews, Anthony, Nokomis, Stephone, Stephen and Maurice; four  nieces, Mercedez, Madison, Mary and Oashia; three uncles, James W. Goodine (Shirley), Donald R. Goodine, and Tony Wright (Nannie); one aunt, Linda K. Goodine; and a host of great nieces, nephews and cousins.

James was well known in the community and formed many great friendships and close bonds with family and friends that lasted a lifetime. He touched many hearts with his charisma and had a gift to make others laugh and smile. He will be greatly missed and remain forever in our hearts.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Monday, March 12, 2018 at Russell Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Woodland Cemetery. The Family visitation will be held from 12:00noon until 1:00pm on Monday at the Church.
