James Richard Commodore, Jr. was born September 17, 1954 to James Richard Commodore, Sr. and Betty Commodore Stinson.

James was known by family and friends as "Chuck." James graduated from RJ Reynolds High School in 1972. He was employed by Brewers Construction as a cement finisher.

James enjoyed sports specifically basketball and was a die-hard Pittsburgh Steelers Fan. He had a love for nature.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Commodore, Sr.; and his son, Ricky Creasy.

James transitioned on January 30, 2019.

He leaves to cherish fond memories his mother Betty C. Stinson (Ronald); one brother, Dwight Commodore; seven children, April Miller, Kaneisha, Tasheika, and Shaquita Creasy, Micah and Mia Jolly, all of Winston-Salem, NC and Shana Graham of Delaware; twelve grandchildren; two aunts; two uncles; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00noon Wednesday, February 6, 2019 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel with Bishop Todd Fulton officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 11:30am until 12:00noon on Wednesday at the Chapel.
