James Baity Chisholm, 93, died Wednesday, June 27, 2018, at the Danby House Assisted Living Center. He was born January 25, 1925, in Chester, South Carolina to the late Mozelle Chisholm Cunningham and Avis Chisholm. He was the last surviving sibling of nine.  He made his home in Winston-Salem where he attended public schools, worked, and raised his family.  He was retired from Carolina Marble and Tile Company and Douglas Battery Company.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his devoted wife, Bernice Boston Chisholm; one son, Thomas Nathaniel Boston Chisholm; one grandson, Derek T. Chisholm; five sisters, Annie Lee Chisholm, Hattie Mae Williams, Sarah C. Steele, Rosavee Williams, and Catherine Chisholm; and three brothers, Avis Chisholm, William Chisholm and Roosevelt Chisholm.

Survivors include two daughters, Bernice C. Jackson and Priscilla C. Perkins (James) of Winston Salem, NC; three sons, James Chisholm (Julia), Tony L. Chisholm, and Dennis Chisholm, Sr. (Pamela) of Winston-Salem, NC; a daughter-in-law, Mary Chisholm of Winston-Salem, NC; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00noon Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel, 822 Carl Russell Avenue with Rev. Keith Vereen officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Winston-Salem, NC. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
