Obituary
Mr. James Edward Caldwell, affectionately known as "Buck" to friends and family, 85, of 2711 New Walkertown Road, passed away Wednesday, July 2, 2014.
He was born May 24, 1929 to Edward Caldwell and Alice Reid Locke. James was a retired employee of RJ Reynolds Tobacco Company.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Mozelle Caldwell.
He leaves to cherish his memory six children, James Caldwell Jr.,Charles Caldwell,Shirley Caldwell, Jimmy Caldwell (Sheila), Vanessa Caldwell, and Dennis Caldwell (Jane); a loving granddaughter, Phyllis Caldwell; 14 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren;and 10 great-great-grandchildren; as well as a host of other relatives, friends and extended family members.
Funeral service will be conducted at 12:00noon Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at Union Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Sir Walter Mack, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Piedmont Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the church.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff of the Hospice & Palliative CareCenter for their support, kindness and care of James.
