Mr. Jake J. Johnson Jr., 68, affectionately known as "Baby Jake" of 1631 Longview Drive passed away Saturday, Jan. 6, 2007, at Forsyth Medical Center after an extended period of illness. He was born in Forsyth County on Sept. 8, 1938, the son of Bishop Jake J. Johnson Sr. and Pauline S. Johnson. He was a graduate of Atkins High School, a veteran of the U.S. Army, and a faithful and dedicated trustee board member of Love Fellowship Outreach Church. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 46 years, Jeanette Johnson of the home; three sons, Angelo (Nathel) Johnson, Jake Johnson III and Antonio L. Johnson Sr.; a daughter, Tiffany Kirkland; seven grandchildren, Kelvis (Esharan) Johnson, Shaun Love, Antonio Johnson Jr., LaMarcus Johnson, Kaleb Johnson, Kanayla Johnson and Isaiah Johnson; two great-grandchildren, Amaya Johnson and Sanaya Johnson; a sister, Jackie Friday; a brother, Charles Johnson; three nephews, Ronnie (Natalie) Johnson, Donald and David Mason; and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 11, at the Macedonia Worship Center. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday at the church.(RUSSELL)
