Ms. Jacquelyn Evelyn Miles, 62, affectionately known as "Jackie" passed away Wednesday, July 15, 2009 at the Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center after a brief period of illness. She was born February 6, 1947 in Winston-Salem to Nathaniel and Willie Fuller Miles. She attended Carver High School graduating in the Class of 1965. She graduated from McLean Business College and was employed with RJ Reynolds Tobacco Company, US Airways, and the Housing Authority of WS. She was a faithful member of Goler Memorial AME Zion Church and she attended her childhood church of Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church on regular occasions.

Her parents preceded her in death.

She leaves to cherish her memories her daughter, Arnita Miles; four brothers, Nathaniel, Jr. (Martis), James (Ellen), Vernell (Vicki), and John Frank (Yvette Jones); aunts, Mollie M. Harris, Itasca Miles, and Ida Fuller; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2pm Saturday, July 18, 2009 from the Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend Johnnie Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 6pm until 7pm Friday, July 17, 2009 from the Russell Funeral Home Chapel.
