Jacqueline Evans Spease was born on March 21, 1961, in Winston Salem, NC. She passed peacefully on January 30, 2026, at Forsyth Medical Center.

Jacqueline was a loving Mother and Grandmother, Aunt, Cousin and friend and will forever be missed by all that she has touched. She was proceeded in death by her parents Samuel Lee Border and Bernice E. Cross as well as her husbands.

Jacqueline graduated from Parkland Sr. High School in 1979 and went on to attend Winston Salem State University, completing her studies in Education. Jacqueline worked as the Childcare Director for Northwest Child Development Center. She was a faithful member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church until a decline in her health. She was the overseer of their summer/after school program for many years.

Jacqueline is survived by two loving sons, Johnathan Spease and Jordan Crockett; bonus daughter, Timeka Spease and bonus son, Timothy Soease, Jr.; grandchildren, Johnae' Spease, Johnnelli Spease, Jordyn Crockett, Johnathan Garner-Spease, Jaelyn Spease, Jameir Spease, Essence Crawford, Xavier Crawford, Ayanna Spease, and Dredan Spease; great-grandson Saint Crawford; beloved sister, Carolyn Cross and brother, Monte Coker; sister/cousin, Sharon Evans Rawlinson; cousins,  Dovetta (Fred) McGhee, Angela Evans, Michelle Evans, Lisa Kelly, Hurlon Bodger, Terrance (Christie) Evans and Undrea (Loretta) Montgomery; nieces, Maranda Martin, Maria Martin and Chyna-Doll Cross; great nieces, Cambrielle Cross and Gabrielle Cross; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Memorial services will be held at 1:00pm Saturday, February 21, 2026 at Friendship Baptist Church. The family visitation will be held from 12:30pm until 1:00pm on Saturday at the Church.
