Mr. Jackie Lee Samuels, 72, of Fayetteville, NC passed away peacefully on October 21, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family.

Born and raised with a steadfast sense of purpose and compassion, Jackie dedicated his life to education and leadership. As a respected teacher and administrator, he inspired countless students and colleagues through his commitment to excellence, his integrity, and his belief in the power of learning to change lives. His legacy continues in the many young people he mentored and encouraged to reach their fullest potential.

Beyond the classroom, Jackie's true passion was coaching — both on and off the field. He found joy in helping others grow, fostering teamwork, discipline, and confidence in all those he guided. His quiet strength and unwavering faith in others left a lasting mark on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Jackie was also a devoted husband, father, brother, and friend. He is survived by his beloved wife, Danetta; his daughter, Alisia; his sons, Sean and Kevin; and his brother, William. His family was the pride of his life and the center of his heart.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Helen; father, Willie; sister, Betty; and brothers, Donald and Randall.

In his leisure time, Jackie found peace and happiness in his love of cars and sports, often sharing his enthusiasm with friends and family who admired his knowledge, energy, and appreciation for competition and craftsmanship.

Jackie's life was one defined by service, kindness, and purpose. His example will continue to guide those he touched, reminding us all to lead with compassion, to lift others, and to live with gratitude.

A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 5:00pm Sunday, October 26, 2025 at Russell Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Monday, October 27, 2025 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Chad Armstrong officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 10:30am until 11:00am on Monday at the Chapel.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to a local youth program or educational scholarship fund in Jackie's honor.
