Obituary

Mr. Jackie Lee Marlin, 63, passed away Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at his home. He was born December 22, 1953 in Winston-Salem, NC, the son of the late Kenneth and Christine Luckey Marlin.

Jackie was a Baptist by faith.

Mr. Marlin was a 1972 graduate of Reynolds High School where he played football. After working as a cook at Forsyth Country Club and I-Hop, he joined the Military Service (Army) as Pvf 1 st Class. After leaving the army, Jackie Lee worked for RockTenn Packing Company and retired on disability in 2015 with 42 years of service.

To know Jackie was to love him. He had a kind, caring heart and would give the clothes off his back to you if you needed them. He loved telling jokes and making people laugh. His passion for cooking was the joy of his life. If made him so happy when family, friends, and neighbors would brag about his good food.

You will be missed!

Mr. Marlin is survived by his son, Jermaine Marlin, Sr.; a brother, Kenneth, (Belva) Marlin, Jr.; his sister, Emma Marlin Price; very close first cousins, Isaiah, John, Alma, Mary, Robert, Larry, Rosetta, Jerry, and Debbie Marlin; his nieces, Penny Reid and Jazmin Marlin; nephews, James Price, Jr. and Kenneth Marlin, III; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Friday, June 2, 2017 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel. The family visitation will be held from 12:30pm until 1:00pm on Friday at the Chapel.
