Jack Anthony Baldwin, affectionately known as "Jackie", passed away peacefully on April 28, 2025, at 72. Born in Winston-Salem, NC, on August 20, 1952, Jack was a beloved son, brother, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend. Jackie dedicated his life to his family, community, and church- SPWOC.
As a skilled contractor and master mechanic, Jack showcased his expertise in landscaping, hauling, tree and stump removal, backhoe work, and cement work. His mechanical prowess was equally remarkable. He briefly worked with Chevrolet and Ford before deciding to work alongside his father, George W. Baldwin, in the family business, Baldwin and Sons.
Jack was educated in the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County School System and graduated from Atkins High School in 1970. He was an avid basketball player in high school, proudly representing the Atkins High School basketball team.
Fishing was a cherished pastime for Jack, a tradition passed down through generations of the Baldwin family, which he also shared with his children and so many others. He spent countless hours enjoying the serenity of nature, manicuring his lawn, and reading the word of God.
On January 1, 1991, Jack made a life-changing decision that transformed his spiritual journey. He committed his life to Christ and became an active member of St. Peter's Church & World Outreach Center (SPWOC). His unwavering dedication to his faith was evident in his service as President of the Ushers Ministry, a deacon, Minister in training, Beautification & Grounds Committee, Small Group Ministry, and he was a graduate of the School of Leaders.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Martha Payne Baldwin; and his brother, Robert "Bobby"(Arwilda) Baldwin.
Jack is survived by his eldest brother, Thomas Baldwin (Phyllis); his daughter and son, Andreana Ramseur and Stephon Brown (Lilia); four grandchildren, An'Dre C. Ramseur, Sr., Stephon A. Brown, Kashira Kama, & Savannah Brown; great-grandchildren, Andre C. Ramseur, Jr., Ambryana Carmen Ramseur, and Stephon Wade Brown; one niece, Martha Nicole Baldwin; two nephews, Thomas Baldwin and Tim Baldwin; devoted cousins, Robert Caldwell and Jody Payne; Noble Sun, Yardy Bey; alongside a host of cousins, friends, and neighbors who will miss his warmth, kindness, and devoted spirit.
Jack Baldwin's legacy of love, faith, and service will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.
A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 5:00pm Monday, May 5, 2025 at Russell Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 12noon Tuesday, May 6, 2025 at St. Peter's Church & World Outreach Center. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 11:00am until 12noon on Tuesday at the Church.
