On Wednesday, October 9, 2019, Isiah Washington, loving husband and father of three children, passed away at the age of  76.

Isiah was born on April 19,1943 to John and Gretha Mae (Brailey) Washington.

After 35 years of employment at Hanes Dye and Finishing as a Machine Operator he retired in April 2005. Isiah was an active member of Middle Fork Christian Church where he attended many years.  He served as a Deacon, Chair and Vice-chair of the Deacon Board, Sound Technician, Transportation Ministry, and served faithfully on the Senior Choir and the Male Chorus.

Isiah served as a Board Member and presided over the Audio Ministry at the Piedmont District Convention.

Isiah was preceded in death by his daughter Sherell Denise; his parents; his siblings, Swen Brailey, Lillie Bell Mitchell, James Washington, Theolia Pettigrew, Margaret Washington, John Washington, Jr., Lee Ernest Washington, and David Washington.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 54 years, Joann; two daughters, Sharon Washington (Donald) and Filicia Washington;  five grandchildren, Shaleichia, William, Xavier, Brianna and Makayla; four sisters, Memberee, Virginia, Faye, Tommie Ann; and one brother Charles Washington.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00noon Thursday, October 17, 2019 at Middle Fork Christian Church with Pastor Anderson Hicks, III officiating. Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. The family visitation will be held from 11:00am until 12:00noon on Thursday at the Church.
