Imeldia Deloris Dixon was born on June 12, 1942 in Winston-Salem, NC to Olivia Campbell and James Huff.  She was raised by two sets of grandparents.

She was educated in the public school system and graduated from Atkins High School in 1959.  She attended Bennett College for two years, graduated from Russell Business College with a degree in junior accounting, and graduated from Guilford College with a BS degree in sociology and psychology.  Imeldia worked towards her master's degree at NC A&T State University.

She worked at the Forsyth County Tax Collectors office for 5 years before going to work at RJ Reynolds Tobacco Company where she worked as a department manager and retired after 37 years.

Imeldia attended and was a member of the Church of Christ for many years until she could no longer attended due to illness.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, William A. Dixon in 2002; and her beloved brother, Michael Williams.

She is survived by two daughters, Donnell Denise Dixon and Dionne Deshawn Dixon; granddaughter, Shanice M. Dixon; grandson, Derrick W-J Byrd of Atlanta, GA; great-grandson, Todd Lewis, Jr.; special friend, Mr. Allan Bellanoff; brothers, Ernest (Myra) Willams of NJ and Derrick (Annette) Williams of Detroit, MI; and a host of beloved nieces, nephews, in-laws, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30pm Saturday, January 27, 2024 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel. The family visitation will be held from 2:00pm until 2:30pm on Saturday at the Chapel.
