Mrs. Ida M. Franklin Penn was born December 7, 1929 to the late Alex Franklin and Evelyn F. Shouse in W-S, NC.
Ida Mae was educated and graduated from Atkins High School. She retired from RJ Reynolds Tobacco Company.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in life by her husband, Paul N. Penn, Sr.; her daughter, Evelyn Y. Franklin; and 2 brothers, Emmanuel and Samuel Franklin of the city.
Ida Mae leaves not to mourn but to cherish the memories her 2 sons, Ronald (Deborah) Franklin, and Kenneth B. Franklin, Sr. of the home; 4 grandsons, Traymayne Franklin, Kenneth B. Franklin, Jr., Antoine Franklin, and Larry (Angela) Curry; 3 granddaughters, Rhonda Franklin, Anjanette (Alex) Roman, and Theressa (Maurice) Stephens; one brother, James Franklin of the city; 2 brothers-in-law, Albert (Rosa) Penn, Sr. and William (Angela) Penn, Sr. both of the city; and a host of great-grandchildren, other relatives, friends, and admirers.
Funeral services will be held at 12noon Saturday, June 13, 2015 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel. The family visitation will be held from 11:30am until 12noon on Saturday at the Chapel.
