Mr. Hubert Wilson known to many as "H.B." departed this life on Sunday, October 26, 2008 at his residence. Mr. Wilson was born August 8, 1939 to Ada Moore Wilson and James Wilson in Winston-Salem, NC. He attended the local schools and was retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company as a truck driver after 32 years of service.
Mr. Wilson was a member of the Reynolds Retired Truck Drivers Club and was a faithful, life-long member of St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church where he served and was a member on several choirs, the Laymen League, and always a worker with the Vacation Bible School and Kitchen Committee.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father.
Mr. Wilson is survived by his loving and devoted wife of the home, Denise "Neecie" Wilson; one son, Edward Hood Wilson; two grandsons, Edward and David; three step-children; nine step-grandchildren; father and mother-in-law, Dennis (Pearl) Mickle of Indianapolis, IN and Jacqueline Yarbrough of Winston-Salem, NC; devoted cousins, Floyd and Wilma Moore, Walter and Reverend Phyllis Faye, Castella Gentry, Ada Davis, Bishop William Moore; Reverend Alicia P. Patterson; and a host of many cousins and family members.
Funeral services will be held at 12:30pm Saturday, November 1, 2008 from the St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend James E. Cook officiating and Reverend J.R. Samuels eulogist. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from Noon until 12:30pm on Saturday at the Church.
