Mrs. Hilda Wilborn Dendy, the daughter of the late J'Van Wilborn and Evelyn Washington, was born April 27, 1949 and went home to be with the Lord on March 6, 2014.
Mrs. Dendy attended the public schools and was a graduate of Paisley High School, class of 1967. She was employed with AT&T, formerly Western Electric, for 19 years & retired from Wake Forest Baptist Hospital after 20 years of service. She was an active member of Union Baptist Church where she served on the Health Ministries.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Wayland Wilborn.
She leaves to cherish her memory a devoted husband of 43 years, Robert Dendy of the home; one son, Kevin (Felicia) Dendy of Ellenwood, GA; one daughter, Tonithia (Antonio) Elder of the city; one stepson, Michael Smith of the city; three grandchidren, Robin Allen of the city, Aquanda (James) Peoples of Houston, TX, and Isiah Perkins of the US Navy; one step grandchild, Elisha Smith of the city; two great-grandchildren, Keelan Allen of the city and Desmond Peoples of Houston, TX; three brothers, J'Van Wilborn Jr. of Mebane, NC, Rufus (Rebecca) Wilborn and Cedric (Audrey) Wilborn both of the city; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 12:30pm Thursday, March 13, 2014 at Union Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Sir Walter Mack, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 12noon until 12:30pm on Thursday at the Church.
