Mr. Herman Lester Wilson, Jr., 62, departed this life suddenly and unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 5, 2011 to enter into a world of perfect peace.
Herman was born in the city on October 29, 1948 and was the only son of Helen Dunlap Wilson and Herman Lester Wilson, Sr.
He later attended the local public schools and was a 1968 graduate of Atkins High School. He later attended Barber Scotia College in Concord, NC and graduated with a BA in Sociology in 1972. He was employed by J. Ramey Construction LLC for the past fifteen years until his untimely death.
Herman was preceded in death by his parents, Helen Dunlap Wilson and Herman Lester Wilson, Sr.; his paternal grandparents, Millie Ann and Lester Wilson; and his maternal grandparents, Era and Norman Dunlap Sr.
He leaves to cherish his memories, a son, Rahsaan Ingram; a granddaughter, Genae Roberts, both of the city; two aunts, Juanita (David) Cannady and Connie (Ernest) LeSaine of the city; three uncles, Norman (Jacqueline) Dunlap, Jr. and Vernon Dunlap of the city, and Carl Dunlap of Baltimore, MD; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Friday, January 14, 2011 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Ricky Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in Salisbury National Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 12noon until 1:00pm on Friday at the Chapel.
