Henry A. Wilson, Sr., 83, transitioned to his heavenly home on Monday, January 15, 2018 in Reidsville, NC. Henry was born on August 18, 1934 in Williamsburg County, South Carolina to the late Heyward and Sarah Wilson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five sisters, Helen, Rosa Lee, Odie Mae, Annie Mae, and Lucy B; two brothers, Deward Wilson and Doward Wilson.

Henry attended the Williamsburg County Public Schools but later moved to Winston-Salem, NC where he was a resident for most of his adult life.

Henry was employed and retired from IMC Fertilizer Corporation in Winston-Salem, NC. He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church, Winston-Salem, NC where he was baptized by Rev. J.L. Montgomery. Henry loved to sing, fish, watch a good baseball game and listen to the blues. He loved his family and was especially excited when his grandchildren came to visit. Henry leaves to cherish his memories two sons, Henry Wilson, Jr. of League City, TX and Heyward "Al" Wilson of Winston-Salem, NC; two daughters, Flora (Calvin) Gantt of Rural Hall, NC and Mary (Vernon) Shaw of Stoneville, NC; one brother, R.F. "Sonny" (Lillian) Wilson of Lake City, SC; one sister, Flora Wilson of Washington, DC; grandchildren; great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Oak Springs Missionary Baptist Church, 9070 US-158 Stokesdale, NC 27357 with Bishop Dr. Eric M. Gladney, Sr. officiating. Interment will follow in Woodland Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 1:00pm until 2:00pm on Saturday at the Church.
