Mr. Henry "HANK" Levon Hicks, Jr. departed this life on Saturday, March 3, 2007. He was born September 23, 1953 in Harnett County , North Carolina , the son of Beulah Marie Hicks and Henry Hicks, Sr. Henry completed his secondary education in the Harnett County School system graduating from Erwin High School in 1971. He earned a BA degree in Social Studies and played a pivotal role on the Wake Forest basketball team from 1972-1976. He later received a Master's Degree from A & T State University in Administration. For over ten years he was an assistant principal at Mount Tabor High School and at the time of his death, Henry was cherished as an assistant principal of North Forsyth High School . During his professional educational career, Henry received many honors and awards. He demonstrated his commitment to the community by serving on several boards such as the Northwest Board of Directors and past President and loyal member of the Afro-American Society and the Board of Directors of the State Employee
Credit Union. Henry joined Emmanuel Baptist Church in 1988 and served as a member of the Laymen's League for many years.
He leaves to cherish dear memories, his wife of 19 years, Pamela Evans Hicks; children, Joshua Allen and Chadwick Mitchell; his mother, Mrs. Beulah Marie Hicks; sister, Doris McLean; loving in-laws, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Wilson Evans, Sr. of Morganton, NC; devoted friends, Barbara Carter, Michael Grace, Willie Griffin, Greg Sims, Deborah Knight, Patsy Raines, Russell Holliday, Stinson and Phyllis Conley, Beth and Larry Hopkins, Phyllis Smith and a host of other relatives, friends, students and colleagues.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 8, 2007 at 1:00 PM from the Emmanuel Baptist Church . Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery . The family visitation will be from 11:30 AM until 1:00 PM on Thursday at the Church.
