Henry Mae James of 1405 N. Jackson Ave. departed this life on Monday, May 19, 2008 after a brief period of illness.
She was born October 24, 1922 to Ross and Louise White Love in Liberty Hill, SC. She attended the Kershaw County Public Schools in SC.
Mrs. James was baptized and joined Beaver Creek Baptist Church at an early age. She later moved to Winston-Salem, NC and was joined in matrimony to Booker T. James for 42 years.
Henry Mae was an active member of Pleasant Union Progressive Primitive Baptist Church where her presences will be missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three brothers, Johnnie, Willie, and Edray Love; and one sister, Ora Lee Love of South Carolina.
She is survived by one sister, Sadie Barrett; her brother-in-law, Tommy Barrett both of Eagle Springs, NC; a loving and devoted nephew, Roger Lampkins of Winston-Salem, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
Homegoing services will be held at Noon Saturday, May 24, 2008 from the Pleasant Union Progressive Primitive Baptist Church. Interment will follow Piedmont Memorial Gardens. The family visitation will be held from 11am until Noon on Saturday at the Church.
