Helena Zelda Smith was born in Winston-Salem, NC on October 24, 1954 to Minnie Acker Wilson and Bobby Lee Wilson. She departed this life on January 23, 2017.

Helena attended Winston-Salem Business College, to obtain an Associate Degree in Business Administration and Accounting in 1976. She worked in Customer Service for Southern Bell for more than 15 years.

Helena Smith was joined in holy matrimony to John Smith in 1979.
She was faithful follower of Christ and was devoted to her church, Open Door Apostolic Church of Christ. She was a devoted mother to her son Jamel.

Funeral services will be held at 12noon Saturday, February 4, 2017 in the Russell Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 11:00am until 12noon on Saturday at the Chapel.
