On Monday, January 26, 2009, God needed a very special flower in His garden and sent His angels for our mama, Mrs. Helen Louise Mitchell. Mama was the baby and twin girl of 12 children born in Rockingham County to William and Hartie Mitchell.

Mama and her twin brother Harry, with whom she was inseparable until his death, were born December 15, 1918. She attended school in Rockingham County and was a life resident of Walkertown, NC. She was a member of Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church for many years and later moved to Faith of God Ministries both located in Walkertown, NC where she was a faithful member until January 11, 2009.

She was united in holy matrimony to Lee W. Mitchell and to this union they were blessed with six children.

She was preceded in death by her parents; all her siblings; her husband; baby daughter, Veronica Macbeth; a grandson, Darold Washington; and her very best friend, Rebecca Church.

Mama leaves to cherish precious memories one son, Corbitt D. Mitchell (Buena) of Capital Heights, MD; four daughters, Janet M. Carroll with whom she resided of Walkertown, NC, Minister Sharon M. Cole of Winston-Salem, NC, Carlotta M. Marin (Vaul, Sr.) of Walnut Cove, NC, and Glenda M. Gambill (Richard) of Walkertown, NC; granddaughters, Chevalier, Angel, and Reshea; grandsons, Antwan, Tam, Gary, Vaul, Jr., and Corbitt, Jr.; one great-granddaughter, Kristyona; one great-grandson, Corey; one sister-in-law, Martha Mitchell; three very special children, John, Janice, and Charles Church; many special nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2pm Saturday, January 31, 2009 from the Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Jerry Goode officiating. Interment will follow in the Nat Watkins Cemetery, Walkertown, NC. The family visitation will be held from 12:30pm until 2pm on Saturday at the Church.
