Ms. Helen Mumford Crutchfield, affectionately known to all as "Mama Helen" was born June 17, 1909 in Kernersville, NC. She went to her heavenly home on June 16, 2010. God's voice called out to her and she answered His call.
Mama Helen was born one of fourteen children to the late Addie Warren Mumford and Elias Mumford.
Mama Helen accepted Christ at an early age and was a faithful servant of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Kernersville, NC. She served in many capacities. She was devoted to her family and loved ones and was a pillar of strength. She will be deeply missed.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, James Richard Crutchfield.
She leaves to cherish her fondest memories a devoted daughter, Hellen C. Wright of Winston-Salem, NC; a devoted granddaughter, Celeste (Mancil) Littlejohn of Winston-Salem, NC; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1pm Tuesday, June 22, 2010 at St. Paul United Methodist Church, 401 Church Street Kernersville, NC. Burial will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. The family visitation will be held from 12:30pm until 1pm on Tuesday at the Church.
The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the caregivers at Springwood Care Nursing Facility of Forsyth and all those who helped facilitate in the arrangements for the services.
