With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Helen Jackson Benbow on September 28, 2022, at the age of 87. She was a Winston Salem native born to Willie Jackson and Louise Jackson (Johnson) on February 17, 1935. She was a nurse by profession and after a 36-year nursing career, retired from Forsyth Memorial Hospital in 2000.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Tommie Benbow; and two daughters, Darlene Benbow and Debra Benbow.

She leaves to cherish in memory a daughter, DeVera Lowery; three sons, Darryl Benbow, Derrick Benbow, and Dean Benbow; 16 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
