Mrs. Hazel Little Tucker passed on Sunday, June 5, 2011 at Wake Forest Baptist Health. Mrs. Tucker was born April 15, 1930 to Willie and Julia Little in Winston-Salem. A member of Rising Ebenezer Baptist Church for more than 60 years, she served on the Usher Board, the Kitchen Committee, Matilda McKinney Missionary Circle, and the Senior Choir until her health failed. She was also a member of the Jolly Homemakers Savings Club for more than 55 years. Mrs. Tucker was a retiree of Owens-Illinois.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William Russell Tucker; a son, Gordon; and five brothers.
She leaves to cherish her memories a daughter, Hazel (Daniel) McGill; sons, William Jr. (Carolyn), Lennard (Cecelia), and Toney Tucker along with Edward (Margie) Fultz all of Winston-Salem, NC; in addition she is survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren; her sisters, Mildred Sharp (Frank) of Cleveland, Ohio, Willie Mae Reid and Delores Reese both of Winston-Salem, NC; a brother, Clifford (Carolyn) Little of Winston-Salem, NC; a sister-in-law; several brothers-in-law,; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Funeral services will be held at 1pm Saturday, June 11, 2011 at New Jerusalem Baptist Church with Reverend William Brown eulogist. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 12noon until 1pm on Saturday at the Church.
