Mr. Hazel Doster, Jr. "Sarg," 73, of 1901 North Dunleith Ave. went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 24, 2006 at the Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. He was born August 13, 1933 in Monroe, NC to Haywood and Melzina Doster.

Hazel Doster retired from the U.S. Army for 21 years. He was a self-employed carpet installer. He never knew a stranger. He was always friendly, loving, kind-hearted, and had an outgoing personality. He could always make people laugh or smile, and loved his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Bobby Doster; and a grandson, Dwayne Doster.

He is survived by a very devoted wife, Annie Doster; children, Vickie, Diane, Brenda, Larry, and Jerry Doster, Erica Allen, LaShawn, Antoine, and Antoinvette Sinclair; five brothers, James, Lee (Claudia), Max (Bonnie), Billy, and Melvin Doster; one sister, Melvina Doster; two sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Sinclair and Lillie Hines; two brothers-in-law, Bobby Sinclair (Mary) and Tony Harrington; mother-in-law, Mary Sinclair; father-in-law, Leroy Gilcrest; grandchildren, Ceria, Jessica, Derontrez (Mookie), Shaw-ron, Montre'el (TaTa), Anesha, Octavious "OJ," Ashanti, De'sha, Bryton, Bionta, and Nazir; one great-granddaughter, Miracle; and a host o aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am Friday, December 29, 2006 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Salisbury National Cemetery, Salisbury, NC. Family visitation will be held from 10:30 am until 11 am Friday at the funeral home.(RUSSELL)
