Hazel Heidi Brown was born on October 13, 1942 to the late Mary L. Williams and Roosevelt Williams.

She attended the New Rochelle Public School System where she graduated High School in 1960.

Hazel was accepted to the Barbizon School of Modeling in New York City where she did print work. This modeling career helped get her the "Center Fold" ad in Jet Magazine. This photo is part of The Schomberg Museum Collection in New York City.

Hazel joined the staff of Graham Windom School in Yonkers, New York where she taught: cosmetology, grooming and modeling. She also taught at the Dole Recreation Center in Mount Vernon, New York.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary and Roosevelt Williams; and her siblings, Eugene Topping, Frederick "Sonny" Williams, Sadie Hill Harris and Evelyn Caine Williams.

Hazel is survived by her husband of 13 years, Robert Brown; her daughter, Denise Jenkins who was a constant presence in her life; her son, Rexx Jenkins who showered her with flowers weekly; her daughter-in-law, Jackie Jenkins; her son-in-law, Jeffery Griffin; the love of her life, her precious grandson, Richard Jenkins, IV; her brothers and sisters (oldest to youngest), Fradzell Williams, Wydell Williams, Marianne Pearson, Melvin "Sampson" Williams, and Delilah Rashad; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 5:00pm Tuesday, October 15, 2024 at Russell Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel.  Interment will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family visitation will be held from 12:30pm until 1:00pm on Wednesday at the Church.
