Mr. Haywood McCarthy, on February 27, 2018, returned to the place where he will be most comfortable, Home with our Lord.

He was born June 19, 1927 in Laurinburg, NC to the late Estella Smith. Haywood served his country with honor in the United States Army. Haywood was employed for 30 years with Forsyth Hospital as a Supervisor in Environmental Services. He also worked at Old Town Club for 30 years. He earned an Associate Degree from Appalachian State University.

Mr. McCarthy is survived by his loving wife Dorothy D. McCarthy and his daughter, Debra M. Jarrett. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and one brother-in-law, Walter B. Drake of Fayetteville, NC. "Woody" as he was affectionately known was an avid gardener and took great pride in his ability to grow beautiful and delicious vegetables that he shared with family and friends. "Farewell husband, father, uncle."
