Hattie Mae Ruff was born February 15, 1934 in Newberry, SC. She departed this life Friday, September 20, 2013 at Kindred Hearts Adult Center, W-S, NC due to extended illness.

She attended public school in Newberry, SC, was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church for many years, and was employed at Thomasville Furniture Company for 38 years.

Hattie Mae was the daughter of the late Archie Lee and Bertha Ruff. She was also preceded in death by her son, Benjamin Ruff "RUFF RAT"; three brothers, Johnny, Jack Marcelus, and Walter Ruff; and a host of aunts and uncles.

She is survived by her one sister-in-law, Evangelist Emma L. Nash of Gastonia, NC; special nieces, Marion Braddy of W-S, NC, Peggy Ruff McCullough (Carl) of Gastonia, NC, Patricia Smith (Jimmy) and Jackie Tate both of Mt. Holly, NC; special cousins, Doll Moore (Eugene) of Greensboro, NC, Evangelist Deloris Roseboro (Ronnie) of Charlotte, NC, and Carolyn Ruff of Clover, SC; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1pm Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at Shiloh Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Paul A. Lowe, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 6pm until 7:30pm Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel.
