Harvey Lee Jackson was born November 23, 1949 to the late James and Nancy Mabry Jackson.  He was the sixth of eight children and was preceded in death by his siblings, Luzie, Lorena, James, George, and Ulena Ann Jackson.

Harvey Lee was raised in Winston-Salem, NC and received his education through the then boosting Winston-Salem School District.

In 1963, at the age of 18, Harvey Lee began his journey to manhood, a journey that would lead him to Philadelphia, PA where he married and started his family which brought forth the loves of his life, his 5 children.

Harvey was a true entertainer, after retiring from the field he truly enjoyed a good time at home.  His doors would always be open for adult social gatherings and you were guaranteed to leave both full and happy.

On February 27, 2017 in the still of the night, God whispered to Harvey, "Son Come Rest," hearing him he closed his eyes and went home.

Harvey Lee leaves to rejoice in his memory is children, Tanya Fisher, Harvey Lee, Jr., Bobby Lee Empson, Shawn Anthony Empson, and Donna Marie Empson-Graham; a host of grandchildren; two sisters, Louise Jackson McFadden and Delois Jackson Britton; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Saturday, March 4, 2017 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel.  Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 12noon until 1:00pm on Saturday at the Chapel.
