Hal Forrest was born on March 15, 1944, in Winston-Salem, NC, to Mildred Allen and Hal McCollough. He peacefully passed away on September 22, 2026. Hal’s life was centered around, his unwavering love for his daughters, grandchildren, great- grandchildren and his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mildred Allen and Hal McCollough; as well as his brothers, Floyd Forrest, Bernard Allen and Berkley Allen.

Hal’s memories will be cherished by his daughters, Sharon Forrest Thomas (Dorez), Karen Forrest, Sonya Thomas (Patrick), and Melinee Forrest; sisters, Geraldine Ellerbe, Melinee Lampkins and Equilla Allen; grandchildren, Takia McGee, Jamil Thomas (Cady), Jewaun Thomas, Bryant Forrest, Billy McKeever, III, Christopher Thomas, Patrick Thomas, Kelsie Thomas, Ricky Forrest, Tracie Forrest, and Jalen Forrest; 11 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Celebration of Life Services will be held at 11:00am Saturday, October 3, 2026 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel.
