Our beloved Sister Gwendolyn Ross Timbers was born on September 26, 1942 to the late Lillie Black in Charlotte, NC.  As a Charlotte native, Gwendolyn attended the CMS Public Schools. She graduated from West Charlotte High School in 1960.

After high school, she then attended Piedmont Community College where she received her Associate in Health Care Services.

Sister Gwendolyn Timbers was a faithful member of First Waughtown Baptist Church.

In her spare time she loved reading books, crocheting, and spending quality time with her family.

Left to cherish loving memories are her daughters, Tonya (Rickey) King-Horne and Mary Timbers; son, George (Cheryl) Timbers; grandchildren, Atesha King Grier, Daijuan (Shannora) King, Marquese Timbers, Jaina Reynolds, and Shyann Timbers; great-grandchildren, Ephraim, Elijah, Esaias, & Ekon Grier, Niyelli and Shadai King, Anemari Brayboy, and Keshawn Barrino, Jr.; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Our beloved Sister Gwendolyn will be greatly missed but will be forever in our hearts.

A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 5:00pm Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at Russell Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30am Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at First Waughtown Baptist Church with Dr. Dennis Bishop officiating.  Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. The family visitation will be held from 11:00am until 11:30am on Wednesday at the Church.
