Mrs. Guster Mae Black, 92, was born June 24, 1924 and passed away April 27, 2017.

She retired from 62 Cafeteria at RJ Reynolds Tobacco Co. and was a dedicated lifetime member of Hanes Memorial CME Church where she served on the Gospel Choir and the Missionary Board.

Mrs. Black was preceded in death by her mother, Rosa Rivers; stepfather, Spencer Rivers; husband, Earnest Black; son, Willie Canty; grandson, Willie Canty, Jr.; and her brothers, Richard and Thomas Canty.

Left to cherish her memories are her children, Evangelist Barbara Jarrett, Earnestine Kimbrough, Brenda Black, Rosalyn (Floyd) Davis, and Reginald (Kay) Black; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 18 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 12noon Monday, May 1, 2017 at Hanes Memorial CME Church with Rev. Clarence Cox, III officiating.  Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 11:00am until 12noon on Monday at the Church.
